Welcome to the Baton Rouge Oracle Users Group Homepage.

Our mission is to enable professionals in the greater Baton Rouge area to enhance their Oracle-related knowledge and to provide a forum for information exchange.

This is achieved by offering our members the opportunity to attend presentations on ORACLE products, complimentary products, white papers and case studies covering implementation and use of Oracle related products as well as "best practices" involved.

Syed Asif Naqvi, Middleware Administrator, METHODS Technology Solutions, Inc. 
Bio:

Syed Asif Naqvi is the Middleware Administrator working with Methods Technology Solutions Inc. He has been working with Oracle Portals and Application Servers for about 7 years and has done both - portal application development and portal administration.

 

He is also an active member on OTN Forums and among the top contributors in Oracle Portals, Oracle Application Server and Fusion Middleware forums. He started with the 9iAS version of Oracle Application Servers in 2001 while working with Methods Tech. for their SONRISE project in DNR. After a 2-year gap for his graduate studies in University of Maryland, he again joined Methods in 2003, and worked in their Office of Group Benefits (OGB) team, spending a few years in Portal Application Development before focusing on Portal and Application Server Administration in early 2007.

 

His expertise includes a full range of Portal Administration tasks from enterprise OAS design, installation, configuration, deployment, integration, upgrade, patching, multiple server preparation, disaster-recovery solutions, performance monitoring, etc. He also upgraded enterprise portals in large repository deployments to 5 major Oracle Portal versions. Asif is an astro-particle physicist by training and have worked on data analyses in a range of scientific endeavors, including cosmic rays, traffic flow models, and genetic sequences of dorsophila.
